MVR vertical roller mill for grinding cement

Gebr. Pfeiffer wins new cement customer in India: 350 t/h cement mill for Udaipur Cement Works Ltd.

Shortly before the start of the rainy season, Gebr. Pfeiffer's Indian sales team welcomed a new customer in Rajasthan.

Udaipur Cement Works Ltd., a member of the JK Lakshmi Cement Group, ordered a mill for grinding blended cements with a capacity of 350 t/h at a target fineness of 7 % R 45 µm.

The customer, who until now has ball mills and vertical roller mills of old technology in his plants, decided in favour of an MVR 6000-C 6 mill due to the excellent reputation of this type of mill, not only in the Indian market but worldwide.

The mill with integrated high-efficiency classifier of the type SLS 6000 VC, will be equipped with a 6,680-kW drive.

A special feature of the grinding system will be that the fly ash is not dry but will be delivered with a moisture content of up to 20 %. As the grinding plant is located in a cement plant and is usually fed with hot clinker, the separate material handling of the hot and the moist feed material must be considered.

While the core components such as the grinding rollers, the grinding roller suspension system and the mill gearbox are supplied by Gebr. Pfeiffer SE from Europe, the Indian subsidiary Gebr. Pfeiffer (India) Pvt. Ltd. in Noida provides the parts for the foundation, the mill housing and the classifier as well as the feed locks.

In addition, documents for components to be manufactured by the customer as well as the plant engineering are supplied.

Delivery and installation are planned after the next rainy season.
