MVR vertical roller mill for grinding cement raw material Al Abraj Cement
MVR technology makes its debut in Libya
Gebr. Pfeiffer will supply a vertical roller mill, type MVR 3750 R-4, for grinding cement raw material to Libya. This will be the first MVR mill to be installed in the North African country.
The contract was awarded by Al Abraj Cement Industry Company, a Libyan manufacturer and supplier of cement and other building materials. The company is part of Whiba Holding and is well established in the construction sector.
From its headquarters in Zliten, the company is pursuing clear growth objectives: It plans to increase the production capacity of its plants and to construct additional facilities. At the same time, the use of natural resources is to be further optimised.
We are pleased to support this development with our MVR technology. The ordered raw mill is equipped with an SLS 3750 VR classifier of the latest design and grinds 275 t/h of cement raw material to a fineness of 10 % residue on 0.090 mm. At the same time, the cement raw material is dried from a feed moisture content of approx. 8.4 % to a residual moisture of less than 1 %.
2,350 kW are installed on the mill drive.
The project is being handled by the Chinese general contractor Chengdu Design Institute.
The commissioning of the MVR mill is planned for the second half of 2027.
