Pfeiffer MVR technology continues to win in Libya
Modern MVR technology for Libya’s cement industry. Another MVR vertical roller mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer is heading to Libya. The order includes the supply of an MVR raw mill of the type 5000 R-4 for grinding cement raw material.
The high-performance mill technology will be installed in Jardinah, in the Benghazi district, and will make a significant contribution to strengthening the cement production of the Libyan Cement Company in the future.
The long-established company is one of the country’s leading cement manufacturers and has been supplying the Libyan market reliably with cement for more than 50 years.
Gebr. Pfeiffer is pleased to contribute, with modern technology, to the efficient and sustainable expansion of production capacities at the Benghazi site, which is also the company’s headquarters.
The raw mill is equipped with an SLS 4000 VR classifier of the latest design and grinds 450 t/h of cement raw material to a fineness of 12 % residue on 0.090 mm. At the same time, the feed material is dried in the same process step from around 8.4 % moisture to less than 1 % residual moisture.
3,650 kW are installed on the mill drive.
The project is being handled by the Chinese general contractor Chengdu Design Institute.
The commissioning of the MVR mill is planned for the second half of 2027.
