Carbon footprint of products of a vertical roller mill
Measurable sustainability – the carbon footprint of our vertical roller mills
For us, sustainability is more than just a goal – it means protecting the environment, conserving resources and taking responsibility. Customers, investors and public authorities expect reliable data rather than mere declarations of intent. This is exactly what we provide: with a transparent, traceable and standards-compliant carbon footprint (PCF) for our vertical roller mills and plant components.
Working alongside greenable GmbH – a greentech company which has developed a software solution to calculate the carbon footprint of products – we have created a structured approach for recording the carbon footprint of our products and calculating it in a quick, consistent and scalable manner. This approach is based on a standardised reference mill, which enables efficient calculation of the CFP for various mill sizes and configurations.
As well as the main components such as foundation parts, gearboxes, motors and mills, including classifiers and rotary locks, we can calculate the CFP of additional plant components, for example for steel construction, process pipes, silos and other system parts manufactured in accordance with our engineering specifications.
The CFP is accounted within clearly defined system limits (cradle to gate) and – based on the data evaluation from the greenable software – meets the requirements of the current GHG standards. This produces a substantiated, practical carbon assessment that complies with the regulations and makes a compelling strategic case.
The scalable carbon footprint of our MVR mills helps our customers create transparency, reduces their risks and allows them to incorporate sustainability as a measurable and crucial factor when making decisions that affect plants and projects.
