Gebr. Pfeiffer Technical Seminar 2017 in Chittagong, Bangladesh

Customer event in Bangladesh proves a huge success

Gebr. Pfeiffer hosted the first Technical Seminar in the Bangladeshi seaport city of Chittagong, the second largest city in the country, from January 28th to 29th, 2017. The event, which took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Chittagong Bay View, was organized in cooperation with HAVER & BOECKER and IBAU HAMBURG.

The attendees, who even came from the country’s capital, Dhaka, arrived at the venue on late Saturday morning and had the opportunity to check in and register for the Seminar and exchange views with other attendees over lunch. The event was kicked off at 03:30 pm by Latiful Moula, Executive Director of Siltrade Ltd., Gebr. Pfeiffer’s representation in Bangladesh. Patrick Heyd, Gebr. Pfeiffer’s Executive Director Sales and Project Engineering, followed, giving a word of welcome and a brief overview of the company’s 150-plus-year history and its product range. HAVER & BOECKER, represented by its Area Sales Manager Martin Rölfin, followed suit.

Patrick Heyd and Bernd Henrich, the Area Sales Manager for the Bengali market, as well as Peter Grotjohann, General Manger of HAVER Niagara, gave the first technical presentations. Mr Heyd and Mr Henrich showcased the advantages of the MVR cement mill, developed by Gebr. Pfeiffer, while simultaneously outlining the outstanding market position of the MVR mill in combination with the patented MultiDrive®. After a round of questioning from interested attendees right at the beginning Mr Heyd linked up with HAVER Niagara’s lecture which dealt with process technology.

The following break could be used for prayers and refreshment. Then the 50 guests – almost euphorically – followed the call to pose for a group photo, so that in addition to the photographer’s camera quite a few smart phones were pulled out to capture the day in a photo. The lively photo shoot was followed by an interesting lecture of Gebr. Pfeiffer’s renowned Director Process Technology, Dr. Caroline Woywadt. She talked about how to optimize the grinding process, with the lecture being full of interesting information on the innovative Pfeiffer technologies. Due to the great interest, some issues had to be postponed to the evening event in order to be discussed in a personal conversation. The first day of the Seminar was rounded off by the lively presentation given by Ingo Urbach, IBAU HAMBURG’s Area Sales Manager, who reported on the storage and handling of bulk materials. In the evening the guests of Gebr. Pfeiffer and its cooperation partners were treated to a formal dinner in the beautifully decorated MOHONA ballroom of the hotel.

Many guests had accepted the invitation by Gebr. Pfeiffer and its cooperation partners.

The last day of the event started shortly before 10 am. The attendees first heard Rainer Krüper, Gebr. Pfeiffer’s Director After Sales Services, speak about Gebr. Pfeiffer’s worldwide after-sales services. The extensive question-and-answer session was followed by a HAVER & BOECKER presentation about the trends in the packing and loading sector. After the coffee break Bernd Henrich and Rainer Schulze Frielinghaus, Sales Director of HAVER Automation, rounded off the programme. Mr Henrich spoke about ready2grind, Gebr. Pfeiffer’s new solution for modular grinding plants, which has already proven in the market. He also pointed out that Gebr. Pfeiffer’s product range varies within wide limits, extending from highly sophisticated vertical mills and other individual processing equipment through to complete grinding plants, product range which allows Pfeiffer to always tailor the right package to suit each customer’s needs. Mr Schulze Frielinghaus introduced HAVER Automation. An elaborate animation showed the company’s product portfolio. The Seminar ended with a lunch and the host Patrick Heyd and Abdur Rashid, Managing Director of Siltrade Ltd., thanked the guests for their participation and wished them a safe journey home.

The great interest and the lively exchange between the guests and the Pfeiffer experts made the event a successful start for Gebr. Pfeiffer in Bangladesh.
