MVR roller mill for cement grinding
Gebr. Pfeiffer receives another follow-up order from Shree Cement Ltd. in India
Good news from India for Gebr. Pfeiffer. One of its best customers, the Kolkata-based company Shree Cement, activated an order for another cement mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer.
As part of the company’s expansion strategy to spread grinding plants across the whole of India, Shree Cement will now equip a grinding plant near Pune in the state of Maharashtra with a Pfeiffer mill.
For the grinding of clinker and extenders, cement mills of the type MVR 6000 C-6 are used in the cement plants and stand-alone grinding units of Shree Cement. The company successfully operates this type of mill at various locations. These repeat orders show the satisfaction of the customer, who has up to now ordered 34 mills from Gebr. Pfeiffer.
The MVR mill with its 6 actively redundant grinding rollers has proven particularly successful for the finish-grinding of cement. Compared to other grinding systems, previously used by this customer, this system allows significant savings on electrical energy. In addition, the high level of availability of Pfeiffer mills played a key role in the customer’s buying decision.
The planned plant for cement grinding, using the MVR 6000 C-6, is to alternately produce 300 t/h of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) at a product fineness of 3100 cm²/g acc. to Blaine or 300 t/h of Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) containing as much as 35 % of fly ash at a product fineness of 3500 cm²/g acc. to Blaine or 180 t/h of ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS) at a product fineness of 4500 cm²/g acc. to Blaine. The mill will come equipped with a 6700-kW drive.
While Gebr. Pfeiffer SE will supply the core components of the mill and the gear unit from Europe, its Indian subsidiary, headquartered in Noida, Gebr. Pfeiffer (India) Pvt. Ltd., will provide the components such as the housing of the mill and classifier, the steel foundation parts as well as the internal parts of the classifier. In addition, the Indian subsidiary will design the plant layout and advise the customer on the equipment he will procure on his own.
The current order has been placed before the acceptance of the predecessor grinding plant in Jharkand, where an identical mill was successfully commissioned within a few days.
Shree Cement Ltd. and Gebr. Pfeiffer look back on 25 years of cooperation, which is based on mutual trust and understanding. The two companies are not only customers or suppliers. They work together in a spirit of partnership to achieve their common goal.
