Mid-Day Meal Sheme - Akshaya Patra, India

Gebr. Pfeiffer India contributed INR 15 lakhs under CSR drive, towards Mid-Day Meal (MDM) program for 1000 school children for a year

The donation goes to Akshaya Patra’s (a not-for-profit organization) under their school feeding program, in Vrindavan, India

As a responsible and leading company in the Indian industrial sector, Gebr. Pfeiffer India Pvt Ltd, on its 24th Foundation Day has entered into a meaningful partnership with the Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF) in Vrindavan on September 26, 2023. This will provide hot, nutritious and healthy midday meals to 1,000 children in government and government-aided schools for a year. This philanthropic endeavor is another milestone in the company's commitment to the common good.

The initiative includes a generous donation of INR 15 lakhs, which will be used to support Akshaya Patra Foundation's Vrindavan Kitchen. This Mid-Day Meal (MDM) program will positively impact the lives and development of a thousand young people.

Several delegates from Pfeiffer India were very happy to attend the event, which was held at the Vrindavan Kitchen of Akshaya Patra Foundation. So were Mr. D.D Wanjale (Managing Director), Mr. Vikram Sharma (Sr. V. P. Marketing), Mr. Jogesh Bhatia (GM, Project Management), Mr. Anil Jain (, GM Finance) and other 45 dedicated employees.

Akshaya Patra Foundation was represented by Sri. Sureshwar Prabhu Ji (Deputy Vice President), Sri Amit Kumar (Senior Manager, Operations) and Sri. Umashankar (Deputy Manager, Sales).

The Foundation serves more than 2 million children in 22,367 schools through its 67 kitchens in 15 Indian states and 2 UTs, making it the largest school feeding program operated by a non-governmental organization in the world.

Mr. Anant Arora (Chief Sustainability & Communication Officer, Akshaya Patra Foundation) reaffirmed the collaboration saying, "Pfeiffer India and Akshaya Patra Foundation are paving the way for a better and healthier future for 1,000 young people in Vrindavan through this project. A proof of the power of joint commitment to the common good."

In addition to the Vrindavan Kitchen, two beneficiary schools (Prathmik Vidyalay Gosana and Diwana Kala) were also visited at the event. This is where the impact of this initiative will be felt the most.
